Services

I primarily offer individual psychotherapy as well as a regular Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Group.  Occasionally, I also offer workshops on healing from trauma and/or on yoga.  For more information about the specialty therapies I offer listed below, click on the section tittles.

EMDR

EMDR Therapy is a well researched and effective treatment for trauma that can also be used for some other presenting issues such as anxiety, stress, anger, shame, and many others.  We begin EMDR Therapy by working on stabilization skills and resourcing to prepare for the trauma reprocessing phase of treatment.

Internal Family Systems

Internal Family Systems (IFS), sometimes referred to as "parts work", honors the fullness of who we are recognizing that at our core, our Self-energy helps us navigate the world with compassion, curiosity, clarity, confidence, courage, creativity, connection, and from a place of calm.  However, sometimes extreme events such as trauma can interfere with our ability to connect with our inner wholeness.  IFS helps us heal so we can reconnect with our ability to live and lead from a grounded, connected place.

Safe and Sound protocol

The Safe and Sound Protocol is a five-day auditory intervention that has been shown to address anxiety and trauma related stressors as well as inattention, stressors impacting social engagement, social emotional difficulties, and auditory sensitivities.  I am excited to share that I am now able to offer this protocol remotely through Telehealth.

biofeedback

I offer HeartMath biofeedback as a way to help clients decrease stress and anxiety, creating a greater sense of calm by working on the breath-heart connection.

ACUDETOX (CO Only)

Acudetox is five-point auricular (ear) acupuncture shown to help detox from substances as well as help with stress reduction, anxiety, and insomnia.

I have been fortunate to be able to offer this treatment due Colorado law allowing certain healthcare and mental health providers to offer Acudetox.  Currently, Minnesota does not allow this such that this service is available in Colorado only.

Additional services

In addition to the above specialty treatment protocols, I utilize some of Deb Dana's work on using Poly-vagal Theory in Therapy to help work on understanding and regulating our nervous system.  I also share DBT (Dialectal Behavior Therapy) skills and other skills to help clients emotionally regulate, work with distress, and interact effectively with others.  I have an Alpha-Stim in the office that can be used to help reduce anxiety, depression, and insomnia.

Invite me on your journey

If you are looking to become a new client (i.e., seeing Jen for the first time), request an appointment below.  If I have openings, I will create an electronic file for you and send you an email request to sign up for the client portal.  The client portal is where you will sign necessary forms and share information prior to your initial appointment.  Please let me know if accessing the client portal is in anyway challenging for you (e.g., accessibility, use of technology, time, etc.) and we will make other arrangements.

If I am not accepting new clients, I will notify you via the information you provide on the request form.

To get started, request an initial appointment below.  Please include your address and insurance information (if you plan to utilize insurance so I may check your benefits prior to scheduling).

As of 12/31/2021 I am not accepting new clients.

However, if you are someone who identifies as a woman and is experiencing PTSD or has experienced psychological trauma you are welcome to check out my Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) Offerings as another way for you to approach your trauma.
